Current Open Volunteer Positions

Delivery Driver:
Deliver meals to our clients throughout Vancouver. Drivers arrive anytime between 2pm and 6pm on a Tuesday. Drivers are also needed to pick up donations throughout the lower mainland.

Relief Delivery:
Need a driver (with own car or access to car) to be available on call on Tuesday afternoons or Wednesdays to deliver meals when our regular drivers are ill or on holiday.

Intake:
Interview and review clients one day a week in our office in order to determine their suitability for service.

Administration Assistant:
Admin volunteers assist at the reception, with data entry, client phone calls and much, much more! Shifts are variable, contact Jen Hill.

Awareness & Special Events Volunteer:

Come out and support A Loving Spoonful at our exciting community events! We organize key special events and participate in other community events. We need fun and outgoing volunteers to help represent our mission. Some of the duties include: greeters, cashiers, coat check, set up/take down and silent auction volunteers.

Graphic Designer:
Help create event profiles, posters, invites, etc. and also create user-friendly forms for clients.

Volunteer Leadership Team:

Our Volunteer Leadership Team is responsible for overseeing over 200 volunteers.  Each member commits to attend our monthly meeting (2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 pm), and takes away action items that include liaising with event coordinators, assisting in training, working as onsite supervisors of volunteers, creating and actualizing strategic, long-term goals to support the agency mandate and much more. This is a challenging position that requires leadership, organization, strong communication skills, and a time commitment of at least 4 hours each month.

Donor Relations Committee:
Members of our Donor Relations Committee are the leaders of our varied fundraising efforts. These include corporate sponsorship, targeted giving, building our mailing base, special events and more. Team members are also responsible for maintaining relationships with donors and ensuring that we provide recognition that is meaningful to the donor. Strong leadership and event management skills are also an asset.

Communication Committee:

Members of our Communications Committee are responsible for media relations, newsletter composition, liaising with our graphic designer, web site maintenance, as well as corporate communication.
