Easter Sundays
In 1989, a group of volunteers began providing monthly meals to residents of McLaren House AIDS Hospice through a program called "Easter's Sundays" .
These congregate meals now take place bi-weekly at the Dr. Peter Residence, monthly at Vancouver Native Health and at other locations from time to time.
Volunteers plan, shop for and prepare meals for ten to fifty PWA's and serve them.
This program promotes the social aspect of food, which is as vitally important as the nutritional content.
The meals are often accompanied by themed events, decorations and entertainment.
